About
An independent consultancy, deliberately small
AZMA Consulting advises decision-makers on anticipating disruption and designing resilient, future-oriented strategies in complex and unstable environments.
What we are
AZMA is an independent Basel-based consultancy operating at the intersection of two problems most firms handle separately: how you govern the AI you deploy, and how you prove cyber resilience under obligation. Where a generalist auditor checks boxes and a law firm interprets text, we translate framework language into decisions, controls, evidence and reporting you can actually operate. AZMA was built on crisis management, geopolitical risk assessment, strategic intelligence and cybersecurity; it now leads with AI governance and cyber GRC, the two areas where our clients face the fastest change in obligation and exposure. We do not resell anyone's product, and we tell you plainly when a requirement does not apply to you.
Values
In all our activities, the following values are at the forefront: solution-oriented approaches, reliability, empathy, a socially and ethically guided way of working, and trustworthy, long-term customer relationships.
Credibility
How we demonstrate competence
We ask to be judged on what we visibly know and how we work — and we show both openly.
- Published method
- We publish our operating models, control matrices and assessment frameworks. The maturity model on the services page is an example: a diagnostic you can read and apply, not a badge.
- Regulatory fluency as the proof
- Precise, correct handling of the EU AI Act, Swiss data-protection and cyber obligations is itself a differentiator you can test in the first conversation.
- Reference artefacts
- Board-reporting formats, obligation registers and tabletop scenario packs are safe to publish and double as demonstrations of how the work is done.
- Standards as context, never as claims
- We name the frameworks we work against — ISO/IEC 42001, NIST AI RMF, NIST CSF 2.0, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 22301 and the regulations above. We claim no certification, accreditation or membership we cannot evidence.
- A named author, honestly
- The founder writes under his own name: a real, accountable person stands behind every claim.
Values in practice
What the values look like at work
- Solution-oriented
- We co-create the way forward rather than diagnose from a distance.
- Reliable
- Deliverables arrive when they were promised, in the form that was agreed.
- Empathetic
- We listen first: your constraints shape the advice, not our preference.
- Socially and ethically guided
- Some work we will not take, and some recommendations we will not make.
- Long-term
- We would rather keep a relationship for a decade than win a tender once.
Advisory leadership

Founder & Principal
AZMA is led by its founder. Engagements are scoped and delivered by the principal, with specialist associates brought in where an engagement needs a discipline AZMA does not hold in-house.
